I have wanted the new 85 1.4 lens for about a year, but it is a bit pricey.   Thankfully, I had a lot of parents place their print orders for their seniors just before the holidays, sooooo I ordered the lens!    Naturally, when it first arrived I played with it, but it is the slow season for me, so it isn’t seeing enough action.  This is a problem for a photographer who wants to shoot!

Yesterday was an amazingly beautiful day, especially for January.  So, I decided that I needed to make something happen.  Fortunately for me, my neighbor has a beautiful (and very sweet) daughter who wants to be a model.   Who better to ask for a last minute play date/photo session?

Jenna ran over after school and we took off to the park for some photo fun.  She was a great sport.  It had poured the day before, so the ground was quite squishy.   But that didn’t stop her from doing what was asked of her!   I ended up getting some really cool images of her and giving my new lens a nice workout.

Needless to say, it’s now going to be very hard for me to take this lens off my camera!   I’m so in love with the creamy bokeh it’s giving me!

You can see Jenna’s entire series of images in her client gallery under portraits and teens here.
