Two years ago I decided to take the step to enter into print competition.   For those who aren’t familiar with the process, your work is critiqued by Master Photographers/judges for EVERY minute detail that is not “technically” correct.  I do a lot of children’s photography and very often capture some really cute expressions.    The FIRST standard the images are judged on is their impact.    So, a great expression and a great title helps the image score.

For the last three years I’ve shot Tucker and/or his family and each year I’ve gotten some great expressions from this (now) four year old.   I have entered an image from his session for the last three years and each year the image has earned me a merit.    The first two years the images were also given the honor of being chosen to be included in the Showcase Book (which hosts some of the better images in the competition).

Here are the unworked images from the first two years and the most recent image that scored me a seal at the district level which means it will merit at the international level!

SOOOOO thankful to have this family as clients!
